iPhone Notes Missing: How to Recover iPhone Notes That Are Disappeared?


One day when my day opened the Notes app on his iPhone, he found that a lot of his iPhone notes missing. So he asked me if I could do something to help get them back. In fact, the notes on your iPhone are often synced to the cloud automatically, which is just like your email, contacts, and calendar do. When you sign up for an Apple ID using an email address, you use that email as the default account for syncing. All your notes, contacts, calendars and more are stored on a server that is tied to your email. When the notes disappear from your iPhone, they usually haven’t been deleted but stored on a server that is tied to your email address (Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, etc.). However your iPhone is no longer able to access them until you set up the email account again.

Find Missing iPhone Notes Via Email Settings

You can recover the missing Notes via email settings. You might have not realized that you had synced the notes off with their existing Gmail accounts. Therefore, once the Notes toggle setting is turned off on your iPhone, you will find your iPhone notes missing. Now follow below steps:

1 Go to Setting > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > Gmail.

2 Toggle Notes off. Notes have to be toggled off in settings to check if there is the notes folder in mail.

3 Go to all of your Gmail accounts and check if the notes are there.

Recover Missing iPhone Notes via iTunes Backup

If you have backed up your iPhone to iTunes, you can then recover iPhone notes using the iTunes backup.

1 Open your iTune sand click the iPhone icon.

2 Select the iTunes backup file that contains the deleted Notes and click “Restore Backup".

Note: Restoring a device using backup will overwrite the existing data on your iPhone, so make sure the backup you choose contains all your existing data, otherwise they will be lost.

Recover Missing iPhone Notes Via iCloud Backup

This is much alike restoring from iTunes backup, but there are some differences.

1 Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage, choose your iPhone and then check the backup archives to see the date and size of its latest backup.

2 Go to Settings > General > Reset and choose“Erase all content and settings.”

3 From the Apps & Data screen, choose Restore from iCloud Backup, then sign in to iCloud.

4 Choose the iCloud backup file that contains the missing Notes.
