How to Reset If You Forgot iCloud Password?



In addition to the devices like iPhone and iPad, Apple provides its users with two wonderful services - iCloud and iTunes. These two services are ideal for saving, syncing and backing up your data store on the iOS device. With one Apple ID, you can access your data on different devices: iPhone, iPad, Mac and other Apple devices. You just need to backup your data on iCloud. You can always easily open iCloud with your Apple ID. But if you forgot iCloud password, i.e., your Apple ID password, what will you do?



Your Apple ID and password, or iCloud password is the key to access iTunes, Apple Store and any account of Apple. So forgetting iCloud password means you iPhone won't backup to iCloud. And being an exclusive service by Apple, iCloud enables its users to sync all of your data across different devices with the same account and password. And that means you can restore all data and files back to your device even when you lose the data.



However, once forgot iCloud password, you would be rejected to access to this service as well as other Apple related services. That’s horrible! But just rest assured because you will be able to find and rest the iCloud password. Below are 3 solutions that can save you out of the trouble. It’s simple and just require you to remember only certain information to reset your iCloud password.



Solution 1: Reset iCloud Password via Recovery Email


In general, you will need to submit a recovery email when you sign up for an Apple ID. With this email address, you can reset your iCloud password with ease. You will receive an email from iCloud after you ask for password resetting. And here is how to reset iCloud password once you forgot iCloud password.

1 Go to iforgot.apple.com page via web browser on your computer or the smartphone.

2 Inout your Apple ID (the email address) that you used to sign up and resolve the captcha; click on "Continue".

3 On the next page, click on "I need to reset my password" and select "Continue".

4 You will receive an email from Apple containing password reset link.

5 After that, you will receive an email from Apple.

6 Input a new password and confirm the changes.

7 Login to iCloud account with the new password to get into your account.




Solution 2: Recover iCloud Password via Security Questions


Just like you need to submit a recovery email, when you sign up for an Apple ID, you need to set the security questions that will be used to recover password.



1 Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com) > Forgot Apple ID or password. Select "Answer security quetions" option.

2 You will need to input the date of your birth first, and then click Continue > Answer the security question.

3 If your answers are correct, then you can enter a new password to reset password.




Solution 3: Reset iCloud Password via Two-Factor Authentication


If you have set an additional security step to protect your account, then two-factor authentication should be another option to reset your iCloud password. This solution is quite similar to above but a little simpler: you just need to input your phone number to get a security code to reset your password.

1 Go to iforgot.apple.com and enter your Apple ID (the email ID associated with your iCloud account).

2 Select "Continue" and input the phone number of your trusted device.

3 If you don't have access to your trusted device, choose "Reset from another device" to use a separate device.

4 Click on "Start Account Recovery" to proceed on .

5 Follow the instructions using the same steps mentioned above and you should be able to reset your iCloud password successfully.
